From The Beginning

Throughout my life I have traveled all around the world, but I want to start at the beginning where I was born. New Haven, Connecticut on the Yale Campus. This spot is filled with so much history and beauty. There is a story to each corner of each street. From a world famous golf course to a unique, one of a kind supermarket, New Haven is the first stop in my long journey around the world.

Starting with the History of New Haven, it was colonized by the Dutch. It dates back to pre-colonial times. After the colonial period it was made a city, a city that grew quite rapidly and is home to the very prestigious University of Yale.

A lot of houses in New Haven today are joint houses where one family lives on the top and one family lives on the bottom. It is an apartment style housing; however, there is more room for families than in a typical apartment.

This is a picture of complex that I used to live in. It was built in the early 1900's. It is so fascinating that there is so much history in the place that I grew up in.

A pretty modern addition to this small city is a famous super market called Stew Lenard's. The chain was originated in Connecticut; however, now there are a few more stores up in the northeast. This supermarket brings so much character and unites the community of the city.

The grocery store is interactive with the people shopping. There is Henrietta the hen, a farmers band, and a cow that can be milked from! This place adds a little bit of culture to the small city. It is amazing to see that something like a supermarket would make a small community like this one, really cultured and brought together.

GUESS THE NEXT.....
One of the most amazing scenic places in the United States with breathtaking views.

  1. You did a great job establishing your topic at the beginning of the post and throughout your writing. I thought that maybe if your hook was a little less personal it would draw the audience in more. You talked about New Haven being the place of your birth but maybe if your find a way to relate this to the experience of the audience it could work even better to catch their attention.
